Transportes Intermodais do Porto

With the aim of promoting the implementation of intermodality in public transport in Porto and Trofa Metropolitan Area (AMP), on 20th December 2002, Metro do Porto, SA, Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto, SA and the company Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, EP set up a complementary grouping of companies under the name Transportes Intermodais do Porto, ACE (TIP), responsible for managing the Andante ticketing system.

This grouping aims to ensure the implementation of a common and exclusive ticketing and fare pricing system for the grouped companies and the participating public transport operators. It is also responsible for establishing the model for distribution of the revenues obtained, and is responsible for setting up and managing an information and communication system for the infrastructures and means of transport operated.
